summer days

Ahh. Summer so far has been kind to me. I'm having fun, especially for the last 4 days. We went hiking in the mountains of Valencia, Negros Oriental to see the Japanese Shrine. I looked it up online and voila~ Filipino Japanese American Shrine. It was a nice, exhilarating and breathtaking experience. And when I say breathtaking, I really mean it. Literally. We had to walk all the way to the top of the mountain. We asked a local there, and he said it was 1.6 km away from where we were (and that time we've been walking for half an hour i think). We continued walking, then we realized we've walked over 1.6 km already! When we looked back at the trail, we were way up high the mountain already, and still no shrine! Then Marco made a remark in our photos in facebook that was somewhat funny. And I quote, "A local told us it was 1.6km away. We didn't think he meant VERTICALLY." It was true. It was so over 1.6km. It took us around 2 hours or so to get to the shrine. Or probably we were just slow. :P So anyway, we finally got to the shrine! It was a good thing there's a store there else we'd die of thirst. ~_~ We stayed at the shrine for maybe an hour and a half. We took pictures and just basked at the overwhelming view before us.

This is the Japanese design gate.
